The Weiland Financial Group, Inc. was founded by Patricia D. and Stephen J. Weiland in 1981, a sister company of The Weiland Software Group, Inc. and The Weiland Computer Group Inc.

In the 1980s, WFG focused primarily on commercial account analysis addressing the needs of community and commercial banks. In the early 1990s, WFG introduced Bank Relationship Manager. Since then, WFG has successfully served complimentary sides of account analysis industry needs, offering solutions to both the financial community and Fortune 1000 corporations.

In the 21st century, new technology and strategic alliances inspire web-based reporting and data-mining tools. WFG continues to develop new products that further address their financial account management specialty.

A major contributor to the industry, WFG has served with the Association for Financial Professionals (formerly the TMA), the Paper Statements Standards Committee, the Electronic ANSI X12/822 Committee and TWIST (The Transaction Workflow Innovation Standards Team).
